Procedure to follow to ensure seamless payphone cutover
Solution Procedure to follow BEFORE installing or purchasing CX-98a:
The final result should be that the payphone is working on a 12 kHz line.

1) Phone Telstra Payphone Team 1800 011 433 option 3.

2) Give line number of payphone, or give directory number of your business
and ask Telstra to provide the payphone number
(this would only be useful if you have one payphone).

3) Ask whether Telstra is providing a) 12kHz metering or,
b) 50 kHz metering or,
c) No metering on the payphone line.
(It is quite possible that Telstra previously provided 50 kHz metering,
but this service may have been turned off by Telstra, in which case they
would be providing no metering).

4) If Telstra is providing a), proceed to purchase and installation of payphone
(installing technician needs to set payphone to PTT 12k Hz in programming block 12).

5) If Telstra is providing b) or c), you need to request that Telstra provide 12 kHz metering
on the payphone line.

6) Fax or email a request to Telstra stating:
a) your company name
b) your name and position within the company
c) a return contact number
d) the payphone line in question
e) a request that Telstra provide
12 kHz metering on this line.

The Telstra Payphone Team: Fax 1800 652 578
Email: payphone.solutions@team.telstra.com

7) Once this request is received, it should take approximately 3 working days
to have this service changed.

8) Call 1300 088 088 to proceed with purchase and installation of CX-98a payphone.
(installing technician needs to set payphone to PTT 12k Hz in programming block 12).
